Piazza Santa Maria Novella

The intervention was aimed to define in a better way the pedestrian paths, the bus and car driveways and regularize the improper use of elements such as sidewalks, bike racks and bus shelters which are often insufficient to ensure their proper use. The design intention is to homogenize the entire by using an architectural mark. A covered loggia is designed around the bike parking and the bus stop areas. Between the station and the city it has been designed a filter area using a unitary element of characterization: a corten steel ribbon that becomes at the same time a path and a sign of recognition for the area equipments.
