Palazzo degli Ubaldini

The design intent is to breathe new life into the Palazzo degli Ubaldini through a complete renovation of its main floor, also in favor of a new redistribution and functionalization of the interior spaces. Currently there are two large residential units; the new distribution will involve the fractionation into four residential units. The intervention, although apparently invasive with respect to the current distribution layout, aims to try to restore value to the original building layout, enhancing the elements, still present today, that once characterized the stately palace. The ground floor entrance will provide privileged and independent access to the main floor that will house the residential units. Accessing the interior of the building from Via Marco Da Galliano and walking down the staircase leading to the second floor, we find ourselves on a large common distributive space, which overlooks the courtyard on the west side of the building and from which it will be possible to access the individual dwellings. The cuts of the four apartments will have similar characteristics, but they will necessarily have to differ in terms of the surfaces that are allocated in the project differently, in order to comply with the requirements of the current Building Regulations and pre-existing conditions.
