Area attrezzata inclusiva – Le Piagge

The subject of the project is the Realization of play area in Le Piagge neighborhood – Via dell’Osteria, as part of the experimental program “Give us space,” in Florence. The proposal is located on Via dell’Osteria in “Piagge,” on the western outskirts of the city of Florence. The intervention provides an inclusive equipped area where people with physical or sensory disabilities or movement problems can play and have fun in safety. Play areas, sports areas, urban gardens as well as relaxation and aggregation spaces are planned. The intervention is characterized by a winding path, represented by the “goose game,” which connects the different activities that at the same time becomes a multi-sensory and inclusive element. The different activities, identifiable by circular areas, are appropriately shaded by suitable tree species and metal structures. A photovoltaic canopy for energy production is planned in the existing parking lot. Thus, the park can be divided into three zones: quiet area (located near the houses, where the orchard and urban gardens take place); plaza area (between the parking lot and the future multipurpose center, where the spaces for sports alternate with a rest area); and play area (in the southern part of the area, it will be equipped with inclusive play structures).
